Very slow access to ABX

Many members have been reporting in other threads during the last few days that access to ABXZone has been extremely slow. There appears to be no geographical correlation.

What I have observed is that my browser frequently is unable to obtain a connection to the site, and eventually times out if I don't retry repeatedly. This has occurred with both FF3 and IE7. I have no problems with other sites.

I notice that sometimes in the process of connecting, the browser indicates "connecting to www.engine16.woopra.com." I understand from their site that woopra is a new traffic analysis tool that has been recently deployed to some sites as a beta. I wonder if that could be related to the problem.

Given that the problem has existed for several days, many of us would appreciate any insight into what is happening and when a resolution can be expected.

Regards,
-- Al

I second that. Good catch on the woopra beta delio, Al.

Now...let's see if this post will timeout...

Yes, I hope the admins do something soon. I'm getting gun shy about posting since I have about a 50/50 of coming to a near halt. Hmm, just noticed that FasterFox indicates it took 77 seconds for this thread the load!!!

It's hard to tell how long it will take for the post to go through...
