Help! Problem with Vista DVD burning... I'm running Windows Vista Home Basic & would prefer not to upgrade to Home Premium or Ultimate unless it's absolutely necessary...Microsoft's already got enough of my money. I have a year-old Acer laptop and have no problem burning CDs but CANNOT burn a DVD at all, either with the bundled Acer software or third-party freeware (Deepburner). It doesn't matter whether I change the medium (DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, etc.) it's always the same: the OS doesn't recognize when a disc is installed, will NOT format the disc, and gets stuck in a logical loop of dialogue boxes that offer only CANCEL or ejecting the disc. Is this because Home Basic doesn't offer Windows Media Center? Any work-arounds? Any solutions? |
