| Keyboard or Mouse not working I am running a Dual boot system with Vista home premium and XP Home edition on my PC each on seperate hard disks drives, not partitions. I wrongly loaded an incorrect Trust keyboard driver onto the Vista setup. (minor mental abberation, or stupid) Now when I boot the PC after Vista loads the keyboard/mose will not work (I am using basic PS2 KB and mouse, nothing fancy). I have switched off the power to force a "start winows normally etc" and at this stage the KB will work. I can choose the mode to boot in. After choosing "Normally", "Safe Mode", etc., (attempted every choice) Vista will run ok but on completion of Startup, -- nice desktop but no keyboard or mouse. Using XP I can access the HDD that has Vista loaded and extract the work files that I needed (PHEW!!!), so I at least have access to the disk. Problem is this --- How can I somehow get back the use of my KB/Mouse so that I can use Vista again?. How can I remove, overcome, or reinstate the original KB/Mouse drivers?. As I said earlier I can still use XP on the same PC and access the files for Vista. Please help me back to sanity Many thanks in advance |

| Boot into safe mode, and rollback the driver through device manager. The reason the keyboard and mosue work in safe mord eis because it loads the generic driver rather than the one you installed. If that doesn't work it's because it has rolled back to the same trust driver. If that is the case go back into safe mode and choose the correct driver from the list of previously installed drivers. crabby |

| Yes, as Crabby mentioned, booting in Safe Mode and Rolling Back the driver should do the trick. There are two methods that allow booting into Safe Mode: Try this method first: Restart the PC > Press the F8 key while the PC is booting > Select Safe Mode in the Windows Vista Advanced Boot Options. Use this second method if the F8 method fails: Close any running programs > Click the Start Button > Type MSCONFIG in the Search Box and press Enter > Select Boot tab > Place a check-mark in the box named Safe Boot > Click Apply and then OK > Click Restart Once user is done completing all tasks in Safe Mode, do the following to get back into a Normal Start: Click the Start Button > Type MSCONFIG in the Search Box and press Enter > On the General Tab select Normal Startup > Click Apply and then OK > Click Restart
