| Loose a folder I have developed a application that when vista first came out I had a problem installing it. ( I am using MS XP Developer). After working with MS they found the problem and I was able to get it to work. In working with MS I found out the when installing a program it installs into two locations the C:\program files\xxx directory and also into the users directory under Appdata/local/xxx and the program is run out of this directory. When I send out updates I create an executable zip file the loads the update into the c:\program files\xxx directory and of course it doesn't get updated into the users Appdata/local/xxx directory. What I found that by changing my program to run as administrator it run out of the c:\program files\xxx directory which is what I want it to do. Ok now for the problem I've run into, when I changed the program to run as administrator the folder in the users/appdata/local directory is deleted or it made so you can't see it. Even if I change my program back to not run as administrator it will not bring back the folder in the users/appdata/xx directory. My question is what happens to that folder and is there a way to get it back. I know this is a long drawn out question and if anybody knows what's happening and why I would really like to know. Thanks for any help. |

| I doubt it'll be deleted; that wouldn't make sense. Hoow about if you go to the folder's option and make sure the Unhide folder option is checked?
