| Realtek Manager Missing Options On my old PC I had Realtek HD Audio to, but on my new one I'm missing some options and my front panel buttons are gone in the manager, it no longer asks me which device I have connected to any of the six jacks on the back of the board, and the two front jacks don't work. I have tried to install v1.78, 1,65, 1.85, 2.09, 2,14, and I have remembered to clean out the old drivers first. It's vista x64 I have and it's a Realtek ALC888 on a Asrock board. I hope you have some suggestions, and thanks in advance. ![]() |

| It probably isn't driver related as the device works and is correctly recognised. It sounds more like it is software related. As a result, it is a problem with the Realtek software. The Vista version of their software may not include those buttons at the moment. Have you tried to find a newer version of their software? That probably wont help because Realtek are usually very slow to update stuff so could I ask what you need the settings for? That way we could see if windows can help. crabby |

| The software is included with the driver. The XP version will work as long as it's run under XP capability.

| Yes I tried the driver from Realteks own side and a couple of others, and the newest I could find. It' worked with my Realtek soundcard on my old PC with vista, can it be course this is 64 bit (I'm using the x64 drivers). The reason I need those settings is course I know that with them, I can get it to recognize the front jacks, and they can make a tab for each speaker/mic at the time so they can be adjusted separately. And also course I like when the work as they should |

| I doubt it has anything to do with your PC being a 64Bit system; the Realtek driver should work for both systems. You mentioned that "it it no longer asks me which device". Am I to assume that it did work before? Had you tried downloading the driver from your computer manufacture website?

| Sorry for my "bad English" when I said "it no longer ask me" I was argumenting to my old pc with Realtek, course i know that's the way it should work. And yes I have both tried the drivers from AsRock (my motherboard), from Realtek and from the cd I got with the PC. There are so many different drivers for Realtek out there, and Realteks own website is so bad build up, and have little information. |

| For what I can see, the Realtek site provides the drivers, but recommends downloading the utility from the motherboard manufacture. There's a 3D SoundBack Beta 0.1, but not sure if that will solve your issue: Realtek

| I tried to set the front panel to Enabled instead of auto in the Bios, but that didn't help, then I remembered there was a setting more in the Bios, and that was HD audio as one told me in another forum, so I set that to enabled instead of auto, then installed the driver again, and it worked :-). I hope this maybe could help others Thanks for all of your help. |
