Screen Saver Does Not Work with Wireless Mouse

I have Vista Home Premium. I just installed a Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 and the screen saver does not work. I uninstalled the wireless mouse and the screen saver works. Just curious if anybody else has seen this problem and if you might know how to fix it. Thanks!!!

That's interesting. I have a wireless mouse too.

And my screen saver does not work either.

Actually, the screen saver did not work BEFORE I obtained the Microsoft Wireless Mouse.

Any ideas on how to get the screen saver to work.

Do your computers sleep OK. Wireless mice and keyboards sometimes interfere with sleep. If they interfere with sleep, then they probably interfere with screensavers. I think there is an update that is supposed to cure this problem, but its creates others--video related as I recall. SP1 might cure the problem without causing the second. You could do some research on this issue.

I might have the terms mixed up.

My new Vista Home Premium - the screen stays on all the time.

Therefore, there is no sleep mode nor a screen saver. I've gone in and picked a a screen saver and 5 minutes time. Clicked Apply, then OK or whatever.

Screen stays on all the time.

This computer came with Vista SP1 preinstalled.

I've done a search and it mostly talks about XP issues. Few out there about Vista.

Found fix for sleep or screensaver.

Microsoft has an optional download for this. Go to Windows Update and look at the optional updates.

Something like: HID Non-User Input Data Filter.

My screen saver now works properly.

Cool. If the update is the one I am thinking of, it also may resolve sleep issues. However, it sometimes has problems getting along with NVIDIA drivers. If you are not having a video problem, then all is good.
