I have one problem with one of my systems it has a glitch with FF the one that says Firefox is already running and then when you go to the task manager there it is running and you cannot close or kill the process you have to restart. I have been on all the forums and still have yet to find a solution except using IE or Opera. I have had it do it 3 times in 7 minutes on day or sometimes it doesn't do it for days.

This happens to me occasionally but only when i quit firefox and open it again real fast. If i were u i would update to the new version (Firefox 3.0.1) as this may fix the issue. Let me know how it goes.

I have the newest version and 4-5 clean installs to date I getting used to using Opera which I like in certain ways like the speed dial feature. I use FF on my two other almost identical systems with no issues . Thanks for the info. Scanned for the IVY Trojan and all the other things that people say cause this problem. I can use IE and no issues or Opera no issues so this lets the Trojan of the hook. I have did all kinds of malware spy ware scans and nothing is found.

FF3 or even FF in general can't be better than IE and it’s a fact why? Because ie has more world share than all other browsers combined! It’s the same for windows VS Other OSes. Also every goes on about FFs recovery feature it’s in IE8 beta.

But it's the default browser Josh... surely all the people who don't know about computers just use IE because it's there? And if so... that would easily decrease the market share by a lot.

It would be good to do a poll on a site like this where people are more computer concious, that way you will get a more representative market share for the forums members.

Firefox has around 40% of the market now, more and more people are realising that theres software out there better than the defaults.

Here is a list of the usage statics from the web committee, as you can see the number of firefox users has risen quite significantly in the last few years and there's no indication that its going to slow down.

Well Wikipedia is open soruce and can be changed by anyone. The W3C (The World Wide Web Consortium) regulates industry standards for the internet. If you look at any source code from almost any website you will see a link to there website (known as a doctype)

Simply right click this page and click "view source code" and you will see a link to the W3C at the very top. Without them Websites wouldn't be what they are today.

Any information from these guys has to be spot on.
