| A few heads up: 1. You can still try Win 7 RC; install it as a dual boot and take it for spin, then decide if it's for you. 2. If you didn't take advantage of pre-ordering Win 7 upgrade offer at half the price, it's too late. You can still preorder Win 7, though at regular price. 3. Buy a Vista PC and get free upgrade to Win 7 when it comes out, which should be around Oct 22. Check with your retailer to make sure your new PC qualifies. 4. Rumors have it that if you upgrade to Win 7, your previous OS, the one you're upgrading from, will be un-validated. I'm sure there's more to come. 5. Within the next four weeks or so, I'll be moving my FreeAlways websiite, Home, Free Downloads, Reviews, Tips, to http://www.softdorm.com. Moving to this new site will inlcude adding more content, including Linux based software.

| Well, October 22 is fast approaching, that’s when Win 7 is to be officially distributed to the general public. Manufactures already have their hands on the RTM, making sure they are ready to sell their Win 7 systems. Some Vista Ultimate users are threatening a law suit if they can get Microsoft to offer them a discount on Windows 7. Some of you may remember that when Vista was first introduced by Microsoft, they have promised to provide Vista Ultimate users “extras”. These extras were the main reason why some users opted to pay a premium price for Vista Ultimate. However, after delivering a few of these applications, Microsoft stopped short of its promise. Many Vista Ultimate users felt cheated and are asking Microsoft to offer them the chance to get Windows 7 either free or at a discount. I can’t say I blame them as most were in fact deceived into buying Vista Ultimate. I’m sure there’s more to come on this issue. Finally, I have been working on my Your Free Software Sitewebsite. It’s still work in progress, but you can take a look at its progress. There’s a lot of work to be done, but it’ll get there.

| You have until August 20, 2009 to download and try Windows 7 RC. Installing Windows 7 on your system is an excellent way to find out if your system and applications can handle this new operating system. Windows 7 Release Candidate To stay up-to-date about Windows 7, including special offers (many users received free copies of Vista last year – I personally received two free copies) sign up to be a Springboard Series Insider. https://profile.microsoft.com/RegSys...524a&lcid=1033 Don’t forget to check my website. It’s still work in progress, but has started to take shape. Your Free Software Site

| As I had mentioned here previously, Windows 7 RTM is already in the hands of manufactures. Sometimes next week I will get a chance to take the RTM for a spin. I don’t expect it to be any different than the RC though. Either way, I’ll be posting about my thoughts about this RTM here, especially about any changes or differences between it and the RC. If you haven’t done so, please visit my website. Though it’s work in progress, it has plenty of information about free software, including free operating systems. Though I doubt that any of the listed OSs will be able to replace Windows, some are great alternatives. For example, ReactOS is an operating system based on Microsoft NT with the look and feel of Windows XP. It can even run Windows drivers and applications. And, also, don’t miss our first SoftDorm newsletter coming this week; it’ll include a step-by-step process to backup the data of your new acquired computer.

| Like mentioned before, Win 7 feels faster than Vista. When you click on something, it executes the command quickly and without hesitation. This Beta is the Ultimate Version and the installation took just over 13GB of HD space. One thing I noticed, I'm dual-booting it with Vista and, for the moment, the Vista partition has remained hidden. Hopefully, this is a security loophole that's been considered by Microsoft. When dual booting Vista and XP, for example, one could log on to Vista and view files on the XP partition, and that, at least to me, is not a nice thing to have as anyone can view your private files. __________________________ REAL ESTATE MILLIONAIRE TODAY twitter traffic machine |
