| creating shortcut to url I want to put a shortcut to a web site on my desktop. When I drag the icon for the web site from my browser to the desktop, the system appends ".url" to the end of the link, and when I click on the shortcut, it takes me to a file, not to the web site. This behavior is contrary to what I became accustomed to in XP, and I can't find anything to explain what needs to be done. Suggestions? Thanks. |

| While the URL is showing in your BROWSER. copy, then click the two small ++ and add to your favorites... then add to your desktop... by clickin any blank area in the desktop -> click new -> click shortcut -> then open shortcut -> then paste the url there... viola you have a url shortcut on your desk top...

| Dragging from the address bar works fine at this end. Try dragging just the icon next to the web address. |

| Thanks, Snuffy, but I'm a little confused. Copy what? The url? Then, where do I find these "two small ++"? |
