different?

If you had designed the look of Vista would you have done anything different? I mean most of us have tried the beta by now so what are your likes/dislikes of Vista's looks?

Hi!

Changes...

Hmmmm... Although i personally think Vista's interface looks great, I'd replace the start menu orb with a black start menu button similar to the one used in XP (except that it would be black, not green.)

The orb grows on you, now I think the Start button was ugly (I especially like putting a window just behind it so its only obscured by the curve! (I'm a bit wierd like that

I would have liked to have seen some desktop features coded into binary eg:// gadgets!! There are certain things that you just want to run FAST!

I would also have liked to see a basic physics engine for the manipulation of windows like xgl/beryl in linux.

Oh, and multiple virtual desktops!!! One desktop isn't enough

Mostly though, I think it it fantastic and will jsut get better!

No changes here; MS designs as well as I would.

Nope, I'm saying that I am happy with it the way it is and don't have anyway overwhelming desire to change anything. It suits my workstyle pretty much perfectly, but, then, so did XP.

I would have included antivirus protection, though I understand the reasoning for not doing so (lawyers). Change the defrag interface to Win XP similarity. Add a spell checker to Wordpad. Place the word Start on the start menu button.

It has been too long for me to remember, about five years. Can't remember if it was any different than Win XP.

I think it looks great, but one little thing is the maximized window, were you get that odd looking black bar. Apart from that nothing

You used to be able to display the sectors... it would show which were meant to be at the front of the drive, middle of the drive, back of the drive, which were being read, which were being written... all min lovely colours! And you could see each one being moved.

WAs great, if a little pointless :P
