Hi,
Is there a "Legal" (Supported) way to shrink the FootPrint of vista on the C Drive (Removing Binaries completely from the image) ?

All i've found was vLite, which did a great job, but made my image not supported by Microsoft

I am pretty sure as Windows is closed source, you are unable to alter it whilst keeping it supported If someone else has an idea...

The only thing I am familiar with is vLite, and I haven't even tried that yet.

If you shrink the available storage space, Vista will kick out backups on a .... plan to reduce its physical server footprint by approximately 10 to 1. ...

Any such utility won't be supported by Microsoft. Personally, I'd say that
if hard drive space is that big an issue you need a larger hard drive.

I think that modifying Vista in ways that could not be accomplished via "normal user-procedures" after installation is a EULA breaker. I won't try to define "normal user-procedures" not, but they don't include modifying source code. They do include uninstalling user-uninstallable Vista component, things that can be done by editing the registry, trashing Vista files, etc. If needed I will try to get more precise. If interested in this issue, then you might be interested in this thread about the Vista EULA, hacks, and work arounds.
