| Problwm installing Windows Vista hi, My friend just got windows vista yesterday, and failed to install. He has exact same system as me p4 1.6 oced, x1600 512 , 768MB, WE BUILT t exCT Same time, same config. ok heres a recap of what he did to ABD CLEAN INSTALL VISTA PREM, UPGRADE. 1. boot disc with dvd 2. not put in key when it comes, and choase vista prem, one he bought. 3. installed, restarted A COUPLE OF TIMES IN INSTALLATION. 4. at 60% of installation, when he was completeing inaLLation, the screen went black, and 2 sec later, a vertical line apeared top left corner, and then a blue screen apeared with some writeing, and 3 out of 4 to way bottom, there was a counter 1-100, and it went in a split second. ALL HE COULD MAKE OUT FROM THE MESSAGE WAS,: hardware, vendor, hard, driver, itechnical information (000000x0000) x (00000x00) (something like that) then it restarted, and kept doing same message restarting all night. help. the other time my friend tried to do a clean installation from xp, and it was succss, untill thecmpleting instalation, message, and when it restarted there was a list: old windows, windows vista, and windows setup rollback, i tried windos vist, and message came, so i tried windows rollback, and it sais the installation was not success full, and it set my settings back for me to use win xp, again. PLEASE HELP ME, i mean hes driving me nuts about the vista situation. Joseph, back frm flight trip from France - w00t w00t |

| OMFG!!! hurry up i am so frustrated, with project due tommorow, need to do on comp!!! guys please help here are more sentenses frpom the blue page: Vistit the vendor website ( i think it say that) for hardware drivers ( i think again) it also say: Crash d....(something) and count numbver 1-100 really fast, (a sp[lit sec to look at page) and after 100 itr sais something under numbers, and restarts fast. PLEASE HELP ME OR ILL DIE, (actually, give ma friend hard time, he failing if he doesnt get his project done today) PLEASE I BEg YOUR MOM!!!! JOSEPH< AHHHH!~! |

| Obviously it's a driver issue, difficult to say without looking at the PC. Have your friend downloaded and ran the upgrade advisor? If not, that would be a great start. Is the PC connected to the internet during the installation; that may help as Vista can download latest information. Another thing that may help would be to disconnect or remove any non-essential items; just have the essential hardware installed, e.g. network card, video card, etc. |

SO how we conenct to internet in insatllation, and what drivers to download? | |

| MY friend had to come to my house to do his project, dang that little son of a.... He only wrote 4 words on Word 2007, and spent 3 hours looking at vista, he loves it like hell, as much as he likes GOD!!! Akward. |

then try the install.... and if your upgrading... use the KEY. my question is why would you TRY to CLEAN install Vista on the same partition that XP is on....UPGRADE AND USE THE KEY... AFTER YOU REMOVED THE OVERCLOCK....

| So mr. hardware guru, HOW THE HECK.... do i UNCLOCK THE GPU TO DEFAULT.... I mean do i have to unclock the GPU? |

| FAILURE! OMFG!!! guys i put my p4 clock back, unclocked everythign, everything is back clocked, and this time, i got the messgage, BUT, it was only 1 message, i mean the message came, restarted, then booted to vista setup (no message) and sead it restarded unexpecditally, error message, and said press ok to restart computer, and then restart the installation For felixes thing, wich drivers should i download? and how to connect to internet while in setup? from BIOS? its me poo |

| If you have a bootable Floppy, change the Bios to allow floppy drive 1st Boot, DVD or CD 2nd Boot, and HD 3rd Boot. all older version of Windows had you make a Bootable Floppy, actually Windows ME had the best bootable Floppy going...
