| Vista to 7 Soe does anyone know if Windows 7 is going to be an upgrade to Vista or will we all have to pruchase the new software as a standalone operating system and install over Vista? How is that going to work exactly? |

| What do you mean by windows 7 going to upgraded with vista.. Dude Windows 7 or Vista is a Operating System not a software application.. OS and a SA are both different things. Definitely you have to grab a new OS once it comes in the market.. and it is slated for release by end of this year

| You will need to buy Windows 7. It hasn't been disclosed as to what versions they will be releasing. Upgrade versions are cheaper because they require a valid older license. Retail versions are more expensive because they have their own full license. Either one will be able to install over Vista, but you get a more efficient system with a clean install. crabby |

| I believe what Rockin42nite was referring to is whether or not Win 7 is just an upgrade to Vista similar to what Win 98 Second Edition was to Win 98; and the answer of course, as stated by Allen and Crabby, is no. Win 7 will be a full flesh OS. By the way, rumor has it that the Release Candidate for Windows 7 will be available around Sept or October and not next year as indicated by MS.
