| ASUS to ship motherboards with a built in Linux Splashtop enables users to read e-mail, chat with friends, share photos, or surf the Web seconds after turning on their PC. DeviceVM works with a wide range of manufacturers to incorporate Splashtop into computers. The company plans to have numerous Splashtop-enabled motherboards, desktops, and laptops available internationally in 2008. The new models are: P5Q Deluxe, P5Q-WS, P5Q3 Deluxe, and P5Q-E. | Re: ASUS to ship motherboards with a built in Linux I have not tried one myself ... It would be useful if this was expanded to include a whole OS running on a chip.

| Re: ASUS to ship motherboards with a built in Linux Asus has had things like instant music (or whatever it was called) for years. The idea is that there are some times you just need to use a computer for a minute--perhaps to look up an address or something. Under those circumstances, waiting two minutes for the thing to boot makes it more time consuming than seems reasonable for the task. Although I have temporarily moved away from using Asus boards, I do believe it is a good idea. |

| Re: ASUS to ship motherboards with a built in Linux I remember it was called something like Express Gate. I assumed that this has more features.
