ATI Linux drivers 3.14.1

Next round of ATI drivers. Don't worry just as bad as all the other ones.

ATI drivers

Here is the SuSE flavor of them, not much better:

Just realized that there are new drivers myself whe i checked your "KDE 3.3" thread.

Do you still use Xfree or Xorg?

Greetings

Still Xfree, I am not a big gamer, so I don't really care about that. But I will probably buy a Nvidia card simply out of protest for ATI's lousy Linux drivers.

Yes, i liked the NVidia drivers more too.

But since i changed to ATi (from GF4 to 9800Pro and now to X800Pro) i think i´ll stick with ATi.
Haven´t played much in Linux lately, so i don´t really need the "newest" and "fastest" drivers available.
And for the next GRFXcard, hmm, I´ve spent more money on the last cards then on the PC itself.
It´s nice reading replys to my Benchmark scores like "WWHHAATT, you have such a score with a PIII???", but more and more the CPU is the bottleneck in games and the GRFXcard is bored to death.
I often thought "No, i´ll stop upgrading for now and safe the money for a complete new PC later" and then i bought something new (Soundcard from SB16 over Live! to Audigy, HDD`S from 40 GB up to 120, from PCI modem to W-Lan, etc. etc.).
But right now i´m pleased with my current hardware and will concentrate more on the OS (Linux in this case) and the drivers and software.

Greetings

Dru

SuSE 9.2 will have Xorg instead of Xfree, the end of Xfree is not too far away.

One of the greatest things about the xorg is that their lastest release 6.8 has transparent windows support. Though it is a little flaky at best, it is a great start.
