I started playing around with Mandriva 2008 just after xmas and I like the gnome version very much. Version 2008.1 Spring was released a few weeks ago. I installed it on my Asus Eee PC and it works and looks great. This is the first distro to officially support the Eee.

Yeah, i installed 2008 Spring on the day it came out been playing with it and so far i'm liking it. But it seems slower than Kubuntu.

So far so good but the spell checker in Firefox is in French, any ideas how to switch it ?

Apparently Microsoft are going to continue to make Windows XP available for low end PCs such as the Asus Eee. There is an interesting article about it here:

download the english one and install it... If it doesn't take, you can try the dictionary switcher
