Mandriva 2007 Root logins not allowed

You should be able to open Konqueror through the start menu. You should also be able to open a console from there and browse to your files that way. That is if you've logged in in graphical mode, which I'm assuming you did since that's what this thread is about.

well all i know was that I was looking at a red screen with no Icon's on the desk top & i didn't know what program to look for there ia a ( YELLOW STAR )
i have looked through that one & that come up with all kind's of thing's i don't understand
I hope with the people in this thread i will be able to get through this

Well it's supposed to be a red desktop with nothing on it since the makers of Mandriva don't consider it a wise thing to log into the root account in graphical mode. The yellow star is where you should look. There should be a program somewhere in there called Konqueror, that should allow you to view your files. There should also be a number of other programs in there which allow you to view the files on your devices (harddisks etc.), and they should be categorized which is supposed to make them easier to find.
