So, is anyone running Breezy Badger? In a dual boot config with XP, perhaps?

I've been checking out distros and found that Ubuntu seems like the best candidate to replace my aged and rather poor Slack 9.1 install with. I've read some about dual boot issues where GRUB doesn't act properly, and I'm not sure that going with Breezy Badger directly is a very good idea. Comments, thoughts?

I did install GRUB with Slack by myself (Lilo was default), so I know my way around the menu.lst and that (just need to freshen up with some reading).

Hoary, on final release, was a lot smoother than Warty; there was very little that you had to do manually (in so far as the OS was concerned).

I thought Breezy was for the newest 64 bitters, along with the NF4. If they can get the Audigy2 to work correctly more people will probably install it.

I'd give it just a little longer Kongo, it's going to be the best distro but it's still Beta and still a bit buggy. I've tried them all and it's the best with the best support community to boot.

Good linkage, the preview sounds good enough to be a casual Linux platform until the final release is out in a couple of weeks. I really want to check out Banshee and Beagle, and Breezy is a must for both, I believe.

The problems with GRUB and Breezy I've been reading about concerns the fact that GRUB would lose the Windows boot options between restarts or with kernel updates. Which I suppose is less of a chore, since one can always boot using GRUB's command line interface, or create a GRUB floppy with Windows in its boot menu. But still...I only have one system, and I don't much feel like hosing it. Perhaps I should get a hold of some imaging software and use up a couple of DVDs to be sure (even though the install is 3 years old or whatever). Anyway, I'm rambling...
