W-Lan in Suse 9.2? Anyone who can help me?

Hi there!

Reinstalled Suse 9.2 on my box today.
Everything went fine (okay, still no 3D, want to update kernel and sources before i install Suse-Ati-drivers) except the network configuration.
Suse seems to know my card. Set up everything like it has to be, but when i tried to connect to the internet the Error Log said "DHCP client already running on ath0".
So i tried it without DHCP, configured IP-address manually, now i get "can´t resolve host BLAHBLAHBLAH".

Any suggestions?

BTW. i use an D-Link DWL-G520.

Greetings

Dru

Dru, I hate to say it but you are in trouble. D-Link is another one of those companies that refuse to provide any support for Linux, but I found a how-to that deals with your card. It's about Ndiswrapper. If you decide to install ndiswrapper then do not use the version provided by SuSE

Here is the how-to

The author of that how-to can be found here:

And next time buy Netgear, they support Linux

Thanks for the links swannema.

Have read several times, that the madwifi drivers should work with my card. Do you have any experience or knowledge about those?

Greetings

Dru
