I purchased a new computer for my company and was told to have Vista installed on it to prepare for the future. I was later instructed to downgrade to XP; however, I need to start using my computer immediately so I need to know if I should downgrade now or not. I have been reading a lot of negative press about Vista, but I have found that majority of it was from 2006 or 2007. Is there any new information (2008) saying that Vista is actually worth having now? My computer is duo processor 2.4 ghz, 4 gbs ram, etc...I'll be using my CPU for desktop publishing and some web/graphic design. Should I stick with Vista or Downgrade to XP? Do you know where I can find additional information about Vista Vs. XP? Thanks!

Hi there! Basically there are no real issues when it comes to Vista anymore. Your only issue would be if you have an IT team who still only use XP and so you could lose out on updates etc. Basically, if you are in a big company and you will be connected to their network stick to XP. Otherwise Vista is fab! crabby

I agree. I've been using Vista since last summer and love it! Never had any issues and the multimedia features are great in Home Premium. The majority of the negative press had to do with upgrade issues, drivers, program incompatabilities and things like that on older computers trying to upgrade. On a system with Vista pre-installed there should be no issues. There are more programs available for Vista now too.
