Is Best Buy still up to their old tricks? Despite having a beatdown put on them a while back for their deception of customers with an in-house website that modeled the real site in appearance, but not price, it seems they haven't learned their lesson. The company was sued earlier this year for being caught charging customers higher prices in-store then they were able to find online, using a duplicate website to catch them off guard. Despite being sued, it seems they are up to the same tricks.

It is possible to buy the hardware online – and then pick said hardware up in the retail outlet. But traveling to the retail outlet first can yield some surprising results. The company stated that the different sites exist, and shouldn't be used for price matching purposes – but obviously price matching occurs, if one can pick up hardware at a store despite buying it online. The employees are aware – and some will help customers find the correct price. The question is, why would Best Buy continue to practice this when they know it will just come back to haunt them in the long run?

Person info.. make sure you get a GOOD (READABLE) LEGABLE RECEIPT, if there is a REBATE offered... locally there is a Class Action against BestBuy for none legable receipts and people loosing several millions due to this.
Best Buy also has been caught selling (PIRATE COPIES OF MAJOR SOFTWARE). Complaints that large packets 50 or 100 packs of NEW SEALED DVD-R's contain PORN when opened.

Dell inks deal to sell through Best Buy

Dell today announced it is expanding its presence in retail outlets by offering its XPS and Inspiron notebooks and desktop computers at more than 900 Best Buy stores over the next few weeks.

In May, the company kick-started its retail push by announcing it would start selling its computers through Wal-Mart. Today, the company sells PCs in about 3,000 Wal-Mart stores and 1,400 Staples stores. Dell also signed contracts with retailers around the globe including China's Gome stores, Japan's Bic Camera, and Europe's Carrefour Group and Carphone Warehouse.

Although Dell's Best Buy move is a major step forward for the company to carve out a space in retail, the timing for the deal was just a little off, as its products won’t hit store shelves until after Christmas.
