|  More Ultimate - Rumor - Too Little too late Rumor mill: Wave of Ultimate Extras to come in 2008 Posted by Steven Parker 3 hours ago · Neowin reader nX07 claims that a "friend of a friend who works for Microsoft" has first hand knowledge that a batch of Ultimate Extras will be released in late Q2 or early Q3 of 2008. Below is his post from the forums. I brought up Vista Ultimate and its "extras", and he told me that because of the ''unexpected" flood of Vista issues Microsoft had to divert it's resources elsewhere and have SP1 cover more than internally-planned. Also, believe it or not, supposedly the Driver and Application Compatibility issues (Which technically was not Microsofts' fault and thus didn't need to do anything) made Microsoft very unhappy since it gave many software/hardware developers more than enough time to prepare, and basically forced Microsoft basically play hound-dog to all those companies. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Quote:

| Question is do u think its as successful as Windows XP's first year? The sales figures might be higher but that's because the market has exploded since 2001.

| IMHO Vista is better after 1 year than XP. but any new OS will be slammed, it is just that most people never had the opportunity to (they are not old enough) to read the SLAMS on Win 95, or Win 98 , Win 2000 or Win XP.. It is COSHER to slam what ever is new... MS, Apple, Symantec, any major program.. if you read the "Think Vista is bad compared to Tiger or Leopard it (Vista) is Great"... they all have problems, they all lie to the public, they sell for way too much. That is life.

| Even if the market is alot bigger than 2001 you have to take into account Apple, Linux, Other, and as Snuffy says any new OS is slammed I bet XP was the same. I know alot of people claim vista has "problems" where really most people still dont understand and dont want to understand how vista works leading many people to say things like "Im fine with XP" or "Vista has loads of bugs" or "Ill wait till SP1 comes out" even the "problems" documented on this site arent major flaws or "putter offers" and I chalange anyone to say of a problem that would have put them off going to Vista.
