I just can't find anything that either does that would induce me to take the risk. PC (and Snuffy), what features of both are you interested in? Maybe I am missing something.

Unhappy XPSP3-yuk, Office 2007 SP1-??? Vista SP1 -Yes

Vista SP1 when I can get the real version, (currently we are under the worse Ice storm in a decade - ISP speeds are in the low 300's to 128 kbps...if and when we can keep the power on. yesterday we were with out power for about 8 hrs.
I'm interested in the
1. Network performance, upto 300% or so tested..
2. Improve by 25 percent local file copying on the same disk on the same machine
XPSP3-3m6s - Vista RTM-2m20s - Vista SP1-1m22s = my tests
3. Resolution of many of the most common causes of crashes and hangs in Vista, especially those involving Windows Calendar, Windows Media Player and a number of other drivers included with Vista
------------------------------------------------------
Office 2007 - I am not interested in any thing there... it currently is very stable for me.. does what I want. (I still use Office 2003s-Front Page).
--------------------------------------------------------------------
XP SP3 did not show me very much.. it did enhance the network some, I seen about 5%. not much ... actually I lost on moving large files.. between the same system... constant add of 15s to 18 s on files in the 4GB range.
Vista RTM is actually about the same... prior tested SP1 Betas made Vista faster.

Thanks Snuffster. I see I am not having problems with 2 and 3. Our home network is fast enough for what we do. Also, I generally use my two laptops wirelessly; I doubt SP1 can help out when it comes to wireless networking. Bottom line: Yes, I would be interested in faster networking when ethernetting it, but not at the possible price of a Microsoft "fix." Also, Office 2007 has caused me no problems that I couldn't handle via the normal update route.

Vista SP1 because Vista runs quite average without it. Also i need the Media Center Extender update, as streaming HD content needs maximum preformance lots of MCE bugs are addressed in SP1.

XP SP3 for the roll ups, im installing over a 100 updates every time i install or reinstall windows XP. Plus you know how un-secure XP is so there probably a ton of fixes in there.

Office 2007 SP1 again speed issues and could do with being a tad more reliable.

All in all i want them to be more safe and speedy products.

PC, thanks. If I start to pick up on significant speed and reliability enhancements for SP1, then I might be in--after gold. I don't think I have any need for the Office 2007 fix.

I'm dual-booting XP and Vista. I installed XP SP3, but have not used it much to know wether or not it did much for my PC. Win Vista is running just fine, even before SP1. All is well.
