Down with IE

Its only when you start writing websites that you learn how much Internet Explorer sucks. I have been trying to get my blog layout working in IE for all most a week and i have had tons of problems.

You literally have to write hacks to get things working in IE, i counted how many i hacks i have been forced to used today and i found 7. Not only is this a bad way of writing code but it also marks my blog as not being XHTML 1.0 valid, but after looking all over the internet i found that theres no valid code fixes for these bugs i keep getting and i also found that Microsoft themselfs use these hacks in there web sites, so they display properly.

With IE being the default choice of browser for millions of people i cant simply leave these bugs, So i have to keep patching and patching till everything works

not cool

Sorry to hear that, but you are correct; if your website is not viewable through IE7, you'll miss out. IE7 is the dominant browser in the world and keeps gaining ground. Let me know if there's anything I can do from here.

That's exactly I was thinking when I posted. We sometimes take that for granted, but the fact that we can communicate from such long distances in such a short time is amazing. Sometimes we need to stop what we are doing and contemplate all these wonders. We can't afford to loose our WOW!

One thing I'm looking forward to is the day when one person can communicate with another person remotely, in any language and seen each other on a high definition screen; just like being in the same room.

I think that as we have progressed we forget things as well stuff like CRT Monitors, terrestrial TV, standard radio, CD players, film cameras. but of course all these things get replaced with better newer stuff

Heres some things that i think we will forget over the next 10 years or so

DVD
32bit Computing
ethernet/wired networking
standard definition TV
dial-up and low spec broadband internet services

can anyone think of other stuff we have forgot and stuff that you think we will forget.

How about CD-Rom drives, sound cards, wired keyboard and mouse, regular non-chargeable batteries.

Hell to wired keyboards and mice!
I don't even think wireless keyboards will be around by then, just all by touch.

Actually I've just realized felix does make a good point as you said, I can't remember the last time I saw a sound card.

As for Microsoft Surface, from what I've seen does really look like the future of home computing but hey you never know Apple might crate something simular with their Macs no?

Built-in sound cards, as opposed to built-in graphics cards, has taken over the standard PCI sound card we used be accustomed to. I do think the standard hard drive is also about to take a big hit. Flash type storage will catch up, probably sooner than later, to the point where moving parts inside the PC will become a thing of the past.
