Ultimate Extras

Ok so you splashed out on Vista Ultimate and you want Ultimate Extras!!! Well.........ok but what are the extras that are going to be on there. After a little researching on the web i have only managed to find 2 confirmed Ultimate updates that will be made available to all us Rich Geeky Ultimates users, Motion Desktop (animated wallpapers including the Aurora style animated wallpapers) and Game Updates (you will be able to download more windows games).

So is that it?????? I'm paying big pounds for this product i want more!!! does anybody have an idea of what you think will be available or what you think should be made available because i relay want to know vista ultimates plans for the future before i open my wallet.

You have basically hit the nail on the head Ant, Ultimate will give you the equivalent of a 'Plus!' pack, and the ability to use animated desktop... nothing else has been confirmed.

Yeeee haaaa!!!

A NEW ultimate extra confirmed, it is a game and a very popular game in fact.
its Texas hold em, personally i have never played it but i think its sort of like poker.

Originally it was going to be shipped with Vista, but because its classed as gambling they are putting it as an Ultimate extra. I'm not sure if its on-line or network play but it would make sens if it was,

I suppose its a new toy to play with after months of testing the same old......so has anyone played teas hold em before? It sounds very American but as for the rules and such i don't have a clue

Texas holdem is a type of poker... Each player is dealt 2 cards face down... 1st round of betting... 3 are put face up in the centre and can be used by all players... 2nd round of betting... 4th card gets placed face up... 3rd round of betting... 5th card gets placed face up... final round of betting and then the showdown.

I am really bad at it But it is great fun with mates!

Yep, Texas hold em is poker. The game has become so popular in the US that various TV championships series are devoted to it. The rules are a bit much to get into (see crabby's post also though), but they involve dealing card in a sequence, some face up, and betting after every deal. And, Texas hold em is big online. Funny, Bridge, for example, and many other card games are big gambling games too. But Texas hold em would not be a game without betting--since the power of bluffing and other stragegies are so dependent of betting.

I'm sure they'll have some new tricks; they'll need to in order to convince the general public to go for Ultimate as it's pricey. Some of us don't really have a need for Ultimate, but a few extras would make one look twice. My plan all along was to buy Ultimate, but since I'm getting the business version for free, I'll use my hard earned cash to buy one more gig of ram and a nice PCIe graphic card.
