Aero option does not work.

Ok, So I bought the premium VISTA edition mainly because of Aero. I have gone through the troubleshooting Aero option that is offered on Vista, but everything I do doesnt work!

I also checked out the website where it lets you know if you can run Vista on your comp and it's all good... The only reason why I did not pass the OPTIMAL section was because of the video card: NVIDIA GEFORCE 7600GT, here's what it has:

Video RAM: Required - 256 MB , You have - 256.0 MB
Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Vertex Shader Ver.: Required - 3.0 , You have - 3.0
Pixel Shader Ver.: Required - 3.0 , You have - 3.0

Does anyone have any idea why the AERO option doesnt work on my computer? Could it be something else?

Thanks for the help!

You did not provide enough info. These are the specs your PC needs in order to run Aero.

1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processorą).
1 GB RAM.
Support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum)˛, Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32 bits per pixel.
40 GB of hard drive capacity with 15 GB free space.
DVD-ROM Driveł.
Audio output capability.
Internet access capability

See if your PC have these minimum specs.

If you check and find you are within specs for AERO.. you might just try to
manually turn it on. Many installs fail to turnon by default..(another BUG) not fixed.

Hmmm? You should be good to go. Since there is no specific setting to enable Aero, go Contol Panel > Personalize > Window Color and Appearance. Then, be sure that transparency is enabled. Also, go Control Panel > System > Advanced Settings. Then, make sure that adjust for best performance is not selected. Finally, go Control Panel > Personalize > Themes. Then, make sure the Windows Vista is selected. And, honestly, I am not sure to what extent these settings affect Aero--except that the first one has an obvious effect. Post back whatever.

Pixel Shader 3.0
32bits per pixel
750 GB Hard Drive with like 600+ GB of free space

OK, back to the drawing board. As the Upgrade Advisor indicated, your specs look fine.

I have a GeForce 7300GS Video card, and have lots of problems with it, AERO works, but many other problems... you might try device manager, uninstall the video card, and then reboot, and let Vista install default drivers.
DO NOT INSTALL NVIDIA Drivers.

Yes, Snuffy points out something that I found out the hard way
with my little ole (as in OLD ) nVidia FX 5200; I jacked around
with several drivers from www.nvidia.com's driver download page
with horrible, crashy results.

Then I on a whim went into device manager and let Windows
"upgrade" the driver.

No problems since, and performance is real nice on my old machine.
