Will Aero kill Windowblinds?

Will it? I used Widowblinds for a time but deleted it as it interfered with InDesign CS2, the rulers would "dissappear". Not good for DTP!!!

Also, I found some of the colour schemes distracting and spent too much time teaking and changing schemes.

From what I see with Aero, esp with the colour scheme changer, I see less need for Windowblinds, esp if new schemes can be developed for Vista.

I suspect that WB may be a slightly dead duck when "everyone" starts switching to Vista--which will take a while. But, WB might survive for a while if it develops some things for those that can't run Aero Glass--until they all change machines. And, there's always a market for things for those who want to make their machines over no matter what their OSes are.

There is already a great interest in skinning Vista.

There is still many who will not settle for the default Aero look. I personally was tired of it way before just because of the Aero clones out there.

Here is a screenshot of Windowblinds running on Vista RTM.

I think the coming of Vista will actually increase the desktop customization market because there are some very cool things coming.

I agree with Josh, honest opinion that screenshot looks like your graphics card is on the blink. Aero is just a big part of Vista it has become almost indispensible to Vista. Windows Blinds will suffer im sure.

I am sure some people will use WindowBlinds becuase they want to be diferent and want different looks for their PCs. Another thing is that some still want to keep their Win XP OS, and by making it look like Vista it provides then with the satisfaction of having the Vista look without the expense. When I asked my older daughther why she wanted Vista over XP, she plainly told me that it was because Aero. For most young kids, looks over practicality is everything.
