As far as processor, I don’t think there’s much different as far as quality. It used to be, but now both, Intel and AMD, are about even. If you ask an Intel hard core fan, he/she will tell you why Intel is better, but if you ask and AMD hard core fan, he/she will tell you why AMD is better. The Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core T2130 Processor has an advantage of 1MB L2 Cache as opposed to AMD 512MB L2 Cache.

I personnel bought three laptops from Dell, all three Inspiron B130, and I was very much satisfy with their customer service. One example, when I ordered the laptop, I didn’t order the CD software, e.g. OS, drivers, application and so forth. My youngest daughter messed around with the recovery partition on her laptop and deleted it. I sent an email to Dell and told them exactly what happened and admitted that it was due to our own fault. They sent me all the CDs, four in all, next day deliver and free of charge.

Both systems are excellent, but I like the 120MB HD better than the 60MB; better to get the 120MB HD now, than to have to replace it with a 120MB later on.

Nice to hear a good review.
If those are the only two choices, at least that's encouraging. I agree about the bigger hard drive. It's amazing how quickly one can run out of space!

It don't have to be a Dell but I don't see a cheaper option for what I want?

I was reading the latest Personal Computer World, and noticed that PCs are more expensive,it seems, in the UK than in Canada or the States, yet the Dell systems were more comparible in price to ours so I can see what you mean, especially the 2GB RAM. Whatever you decide, warranty should be at least a year, and read all the fine print. Good luck!

You can find a number of user reviews on the Inspiron 6400 at notebook review.com. Google Inspiron 6400 and it will be the first hit.
