| [ASK] I could not edit folder/files on other computer/network storage in my network I just did fresh install my laptop, before the re-install, i was able to edit any folder in any other computer and network storage in my network. Every time I try to edit, comes warning that i do not have permission. I tried to change the privilege by right clicking the folder-security-edit.. when I click apply, same thing happen, i do not have no permission. I have no idea what's wrong with this. I was log in as admin. |

| They might be links, instead of the actual file.!! you might try this: 1. ctrl+shift+enter, run app in the launch text field elevated (as admin) 2. open folder,right-click file, open property, click Security>Advanced>Owner>Edit>Administrators,Click OK and close property. reopen property,Click Security>Advanced>Edit>Double-clickAdministrators>Click “Full Control”,Click OK then close Property. This should give you Full Access as Admin to that file. 3. To take ownership.: 1. Start /Run and type cmd 2. run as admin 3. Type cd\ 3. Type cd proper place 4. As a user, Run this command, takeown /f "the file" full name This has given you ownership of the file. Enter the directory / file via Windows Explorer and right click the file. Go to the Properties/Security Tab and edit/add an entry for everyone and give them all full access. (tick all the squares). You will find you can now delete/access/edit/what ever the file. you can find under start --> cmd --> run as admin --> TAKEOWN /?

| 1. First did you select RUN AS ADMIN. on command prompt. Quote:
unless it has been turned off you should also be able to switch user to ADMIN which gives you FULL TOTAL ACCESS to your computer. I porefer to use the cmd prompt but when all else fails.... BOOT to and START/Login as ADMIN not normal USER.
