Nice tool for Firefox and IE by Symantec

I came across this tool Site Adviser, I am unsure if it has been mentioned before here on Vista Babble, but this is one excellent tool for informing users about the security of the sites that you visit within your web browser it is available for both IE and Firefox and it is very strongly recommended by me.

Internet Explorer

McAfee SiteAdvisor - Internet Explorer Download

Mozilla Firefox

McAfee SiteAdvisor - Firefox Extension Download

Another browser add-on you might like is Web of Trust. (full disclosure: my employer) WOT is an online community for reputation rating that lets Internet users share their knowledge of websites. The ratings are based on standards of trustworthiness, vendor reliability, privacy and child safety.

A tiny traffic light style icon appears next to the link after you search on Google, Yahoo!, Wikipedia, etc, so it alerts you about that site. What I like about it is that it’s people-driven, so I benefit from other people’s experience and knowledge–plus I can add my two cents in there too! WOT has information on 17.5 million websites, and is continually growing and improving. Version 3 is slated to come out soon with more features. Works with IE and Firefox.

Please check it out and let me know what you think.
