Exclamation Vista default username/pass on Network?

Hi All,

Just configured my new router for my PC running Vista and my notebook running XP. Now since the configuring, i have been trying to access files from each of the computers over the network. This is where i find the problem.

When im on the PC, i can find the Notebook in the 'Network' and have access to all the files on the C: fine. Now when i go to get files from the PC while logged into the Notebook, everytime i double click the PC icon it asks for the Username and password! (see attached image of the popup screen).

now in XP i know i can right click on each shared item and change the permissions there, but on vista i have no idea where it is asking me to set the username and password. Shouldnt i be able to see individual shard items on my PC like the folder i shared called 'Bens'?

Any suggestions very welcome!!!

Thanks in advance for your help!

There is no password or username! There is an option in the network sharing center which you have to change, then it will all come up roses! Just turn off password sharing and you're away.

Of course if this isn't vhte issue then post back

Ok im such a n00b, for anyone else who is blind, it is simply called "password protected sharing" within the Network and Sharing Centre. This needs to be OFF! i just assumed all those things were meant to be on, but not in my case!

Thanks for your help crabby, i would be looking everywhere but there if you didnt point me to it!

Cheers
