I was hoping some else would try it first. Actually I did try it and it just starts the FF download. Like Crabby said, it's the same FF browser available at Firefox home page. Someone just setup the website to make it look like Microsoft was taking over Firefox.

Sure, those umemployed bozos that have all the time of the world to program for free will beat a 75 billion dollar company. Keep dreaming, the giant just woke up and is already working on IE8. Open source...what a joke.

I LOVE THAT SMILEY ZNOD! And in reply to JDonner... if Microsoft has ALWAYS been worth more than Firefox, why was firefox EVER better than IE We all know the answer of course... its greed! MS will try to get away with doing as little as possible because it increaseds profits, whereas open source isn't profit making so the only reason the software exists is to please people You really think Vista would have an accelerated desktop if other OS's hadn't showed it up first?

Google has released a customized version of Microsoft's IE7 browser in which Google is the default search engine.

I wonder a little bit.
The Mac OS X version of firefox features the same Google search, as Mac OS X's standard browser "Safari", so why doesn't Firefox for Windows feature Google search?

RF-musician, you are correct. I just found a screen shot of Firefox for Mac and it looks so much like IE7 (see snip).

One reason, and probably only reason, I use Firefox to access VBabble is because the spell checker when I type a response or post. Other than that IE7 has everything else I need.

Don't let Favorites play favorites, take control of your Favorites folder

I like to keep track of sites that have information that I may need or that I may want to visit later. However, depending on how many favorites links you have, your "Favorites Center" can get pretty crowded and disorganize, making it difficult to find your links. You can minimize that by organizing your links into folders, much like organizing folders in explorer. You can also add or delete favorite links. Here's how:

1. Open Favorites Center by clicking the favorites link (orange/yellowish start upper left hand corner) or using the Alt+C shortcut on your keyboard.
2. To modified a link, add or delete folders, right-click any link. Now, select your option from the dialog box that will appear. For example:
a. Rename the link to make it easier to better remember site's information, and it makes it easier to find the link.
b. Create New Folder and drag similar links into it. Much easier than to go up and down looking for that important link.
c. Delete that old link that doesn't take you anywhere or that you no longer need. Will make favorites less crowded and easier to navigate. (You can also delete folders as well)
d. Open in New Tab, this is one of my favorites option. Select this option to open the linked site in a new tab. It keeps your current website open.

You can also use the orange/yellowish start with the green plus sign to organize your favorites or add a link of your current website. Either click this button or use the Alt+Z shortcut. Note: If you select Add Tab Group to Favorites, it will create a Favorites Group containing all Web sites that are currently open.

My favorite shortcut; Alt+D, It adds a link of the current page to favorites, gives you the option to select a folder where you want the link to go to and gives you the option to name the link.

The answer is very obvious; they didn't want to spend much development on IE since 1998:

IE1 released in 1995
IE2 released in 1995
IE3 released in 1996
IE4 released in 1997
IE5 released in 1998
3 years later....
IE6 released in 2001
5 years later ...
IE7 released in 2006

Times have changed... http://news.softpedia.com/news/Inter...-0-44304.shtml
