A7N8X-E Deluxe, adding SATA drive

system:
A7N8X-E - 2500 XP-M
160 GB HD with WINXP SP2
200 GB HD
430W TruePower Antec
2x 512 Kingston HyperX LL

i want to add a 3rd 250 GB SATA HD. i tried the drivers from the MB disk, i tried the drivers from the Asus site. i can't seem to get this to work? Windows will not recognize this drive. from what i can see there is no setting in the bios?? i thought about uplugging the 200GB HD in case i didnt have enough power?? any suggestions?

Thanks!

99% sure it's a Maxtor 250 GB SATA. just remembered i got it in a trade, so there is a very slight possibility, but assuming it's not SATA2.

anything to do with Maxtor drivers??

Why not have a quick look at the drive to see if it has the speed limiting jumpers on the back of it?
