Question Asus E-612 Dvd-rom

Hi!

I have the ASUS E612 DVD-ROM (12x) and I'm quite satisfied with it!

But I would like to know, why this DVD-ROM is not being supported by Asus.

When I look at DVD-E608, which is the 8x model, there is a page with description, drivers, etc.
But, when I click E612, there is only a page with a picture of it.
That's strange.

Btw, is there anyone who'd suggest to use these manufacturer's drivers i/o the standard Windows drivers? I've never used any special CD-ROM drivers in Windows before, so are there any benefits of using them?

Thanks,

Ozzy.
