Boot problem

After re-format and re-install OS, everything is great except I can't boot with my WD storage drive hooked up. It worked fine before. Its configured for storage via WD lifeguard tool. Bios shows it on hard drives list, but not on the boot list. It used to. I can plug it in after I boot and use it, but after shut down re-boot gets stuck in an endless cycle. Boot from F8 doesn't work either. I have to unplug it from the mobo and then it boots in record time. I use it to Ghost back-ups. Any Ideas please.

Michael.

Re: Boot problem

In the Main menue, Serial-ATA1, 2, 3, and 4, are enabled. Raid function is disabled.
In Advanced, Silicon Image Mode is set to SATA2.

Re: Boot problem

I've downloaded Seagate diagnostic tools, I'll try that next.

Re: Boot problem

Thums up for the sticky on for diagnostic tools! Seagate is replacing it.
