| Hi guys. I have encountered a problem a day this week while burning an Audio CD from WMP. Firstly, when the burning commence everything went smooth but when it came to the third last song the burning stop presenting some form of error with either the song or CD. I know definitely nothing is wrong with both CD or the particular song at which it stop at. However, because of this i can no longer BURN and futhermore PLAY any audio CDs whether original or burn from WMP(which i used most of the time). For instance, i would enter an Audio CD or GAME CD in the drive it doesnt get detect no matter what. When it is the drive it says "please enter the CD" although its already in the drive. What is even more bizarre it ONLY plays DVDs as far as i am concern and presented with this is a vibrating effect on the drive when the DVD is playing. I am wondering if something is wrong with the burning lens and its messing with playing Audio CDs or games or just simply the DRIVE because i burn ALOT of CDs all the time. I would be very grateful if you guys could assist me in anyway you can with the problem i'm experiencing. Bare with me, i am no PC expert, so i hope i am explaining the best way i can. I do hope when you reply that you dont have to tell me i have to buy a NEW DRIVE. Thanx. Hope to hear you soon |

| Re: Burning Problems Have you got a copy of the Windows XP installation CD, or another bootable CD? If so, try booting from it and see what you get. It's possible that the CD side of things has tanked on you with the drive.

| Re: Burning Problems Just don't put it right in the drive and pull, you risk blowing the lense off, or making other fun things that go rattle in the night.

| Re: Burning Problems Sounds like the drive might be dead, post model and make. I once salvaged an AOpen drive with a firmware flash, not saying it will work for you but cost nothing and is wourth a try. |
