| computer cannot find network adapter Hi friends, when I am trying to connect internet from home, the computer cannot find network adapter location in device manager, it like I haven’t installed it. Though it’s installed properly and working fine in office computer. And when I am using isp cd to try and set up connection its says my network adapter is missing. Do any one have any idea what’s wrong in my home computer?

| Re: computer cannot find network adapter Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Network adapters. Click the "+" sign to make it "-". What is listed? Do you use a Domain Controller at work? If the device manager sees the network card, Start -> Run -> cmd. c:\> ipconfig /release (XP) or ipconfig /release_all (98) Reboot the PC. See if you can get on. You should do this right before you leave work. Release the IP lease and shutdown the PC. When you turn it on at home it should pick up a new IP (provided that it is set up for DHCP.)

| Re: computer cannot find network adapter Once you get it working there is some software that will allow up to 6 different networking profiles. You just select the one you want to use. The software is called netsetman a freeware version is available.
