Data Recovery

Hi Guys,

I accidently formatted one of my hard drives that has very important information on it. Does ant know of a free or shareware product for data recovery.

Any suggestion would be appreciated although I do prefer those that have been tested already.

Thanks fellas (and ladies if I missed any).

I use Restorer2000 for this. It is shareware. Available here:

Make sure you do a full disk scan with Restorer. It will take some time, depending on how large the drive is. It tries to reconstruct the files by reading every byte on the drive and figuring out what is what. Whatever it finds will have to be saved to another drive, or you will wind up writing over what you are trying to recover. As long as the drive hasn't been used sinde the format, there is a good chance that it will work well for you.
