i have 4 of them in my machine thanks to maxtor. i trust them that they work if not, they go right back where they came from.

All but 2 of my hard drives are repaired. Actually the hard drive that makes the most noise is the retail 200GB hard drive. Althouhg that might be because of different versions.

i have a repaired (technically refurb from a warranty swap) Ultra2Wide 9GB Scsi that is allmost 10 years old and still works like a charm. It is my only warranty drive!

repaired drive suck. lasted me 5 months, then died. i know it was all my fault. that is all you guys over here tell me. it is always my fault. never just bad luck. nope just me

fixing IBM machines for the past 6 years I get lot's of refurbished drives. Haven't seen a single one fail.

FYI, the RMA referbished ones often receive more testing to make sure they are functioning correctly than the new ones. The last thing the manufacturers want is for a drive to immediately fail a second time and be sent back for an RMA. So, I have actually found RMA drives to be more dependable than new ones strangely. I know this is counterintuitive, but it really isn't if you think about it a bit.
