Greets,

I have a Radeon 64M DDR VIVO and a Pioneer 116 DVD ROM on my CUSL2-c. The Radeon keeps telling me that it has noted an incompatibility --- the Pioneer DMA. It doesn't say whether DMA should be on or off to become compatible, but I do not know how to turn it on or off anyway, as there is no DMA button in the system properties on it.

I am running 1006.A final on my WOA CUSL2-C - 1GHZ. The drive is the only drive on IDE channel 2.

Does the Intel ATA-100 Drivers disable DMA?

Any Ideas?

Thanks

I assume you're using WinME/98/98SE and have installed any version of Intel ATA driver. First, do you know that there is issue regarding Ravisent CineMaster DVD video playing software that requires DMA checkbox selection while DMA checkbox is not available after installation of Intel Ultra ATA Storage Driver. This happens if you instal Intel ATA driver version 6.03.008 or Intel Ultra ATA 6.10.003 Beta1 in Windows 98 / 98 Second Edition / Windows Millennium Edition? You have to uninstall that old driver & then Reinstal Intel Ultra ATA 6.10.003 Beta2. Find info here: http://cusl2.efront.com/vbulletin/sh...?threadid=2502

THANK YOU!

Mushkin Rules,

THANK YOU for your reply. Your message was the kick in the butt I needed to uninstall the Intel Drivers. I must say that I *was* using Beta2 and did not have the checkbox, but no matter.

Removing Beta2 and checking the DMA has caused little to no drop in my HD speed, and a DRAMATIC drop in CPU utilization. No more Intel drivers for me

THANK YOU
