DVD drive

Hi got a problem got a pioneer a06 burner and everytime I put a movie in it it won't read ii. It says that it is copy protected. When I put the same movie in my pioneer 116 it reads it fine. Wondering why it will not read in the burner.

Thanks

You might have to go into device manager to set a region for A06 burner.

Are you trying to play an original DVD or a burned DVD?

BTW, what software-dvd player are you using.

I had the same problem as you did when I installed the Roxio dvdplayer that came with my Plextor PX-708a. Found out that the Roxio player will not work with copy protected DVDs. I ended up uninstalling it and continued using the ATI DVD player. Also, Powerdvd 5.0 worked fine.

Have you checked the Pioneer site to see if you have the latest update to the rom for the drive? If not, try updating the drive's rom, and it might solve the problem.

Out of curiousity, have you tried to rip the disc to your hard drive using DVD Decrypter, this should remove both CSS and Macrovision protection. Then you can use DVDShrink to access the ripped movie from your hard drive to shrink and burn it.

Go into device manager, dvd/cd-rom, select the A06, dvd region tab, and check if a region is assigned. If not, then you need to assign one.

Check the pioneer 116 drive and see this is setup with a region.
