Yes it does. So the 2.24V reading is probably due to faulty reporting/monitoring, which in turn may be a secondary symptom of whatever the underlying problem is. Although the underlying problem does seem to be sensitive to Vcore, since it changed when you manually set to 1.2V. Not sure what to suggest further as to what the underlying problem might be, but do run Memtest86+.

-- Al

Edit: I assume the Realtemp results are with Vcore set to Auto.

Re: Dying 150GB Raptor?

When I put my new rigg together, I was having all sorts of weird problems, I could run any test and it would pass, memtest, Pi, anything OCCT, didn't matter, I was just about to return my MB and I remembered I installed a new usb keyboard, a Enermax aluminum KB005U CAESAR, well to make a lond story shorter it was a bad usb cord on the new keyboard, it didn't get enough power throught the cord...so maybe check your usb stuff, and see if that helps? My rigg would hardlock, and it would freeze trying to make dvd's, wouldn't boot on the first hit of the power buttom, and it would say my overclock was to high even though I was running stock! So it could be a bad usb device, has soon has I changed to a old keyboard everyhing worked.....talk about weird!!!!

Re: Dying 150GB Raptor?

This one friend was having very similar issues on this laptop. He switched back to SP2 and everything was dandy.

The HP Service Center here in Mumbai is advising people against installing SP3.

Is anyone else having issues after updating to SP3?

My wireless receiver's USB cable is torn. I can see the inner cable. And yes, the reception has been very choppy!

Well, that doesn't really help ... because then I don't have a keyboard attached. Also, I never know when the system will crash ... it's really sporadic.

Yea, I'm sorry didn't get the wireless reciever was for your keyboard! All I was saying is it could be a usb device causing your crashes. Good luck with your rig, I hope you find the problem..

Back up the drive; make a ghost image of it; and then take out the drive and try it on another computer. Rule out that it's the drive itself or not.

Re: Dying 150GB Raptor?

I just installed Windows Vista Ultimate ...

Installation went very smoothly. It was very fast too. Now I'm installing SP1.

Will keep you guys posted.

Again, I appreciate all the quality help that has come my way.

It takes a while to collect the data. Maybe 5 to 7 days.
