| A week ago I posted a problem of slow HDD speed and rising CPU temps after an hour or so even at idle. I was using the Intel 6.03 drivers, because the native ME drivers were slow. I finally remembered [duh] that the MS drivers didn't automatically set the DMA transfer, and when I enabled DMA, these drivers are as fast as the Intel ones. This solved the HDD problem and as a bonus, it solved the temp problem too. The only reason I can think of, is that the ME drivers lowered the CPU usage, but I really don't see how that would do it at idle. But--If anyone else has the problem----- |
