There is a new firmware released by sony for there dvd-writer DRU-510A, the 1.0f

Is there someone that tried it already, are there any improvements?

what the heck, things are going too smoothly anyway for me, so I'll give it a try.

I'll post back later tonight or tomorrow and let you know how it went

I upgraded from 1.0d to 1.0f

Did they even release a 1.0e for the 510 ?

So far no issues, but I haven't burned any disc's yet.

I don't think it will make writing that much better, the Sony's are just too picky :P

Ditto, I went from 1.0d to 1.0f. Never noticed an 'e' version.

Install went flawless, everythings seems to be at least what it was. Burning seems no different, though, and speed tests are the same. Maybe more/better media support, who knows.

It'd be nice to see a list of what was revised, but I guess Sony feels that's on a need to know basis, and us customers don't need to know.

Thanks, I also missed the 1.0e but I didn't expect that much differences. Maybe they add some new/more media, who knows.
I don't like that lack of information!!
