Question

Recently as my system goes through the boot process and I have reached the point where my Desktop is on and some task bar items are loading, I notice a lot of activity from my floppy drive, the light comes on steady and it produces a "working " noise. This will last for 5-10 seconds. My boot sequence is normal (floppy/HD/ CDROM) and it appears that the floppy is checked normally early in the boot sequence. Why do I get all this activity very late in the process?

I now see that this activity occurs when i click on start and move mouse pointer up the start menu. When Documents is highlighted, the floppy activity occurs and stops when the document window opens. The Doc. window opens automatically. This problem prevents me from moving directly to Programs because the computer hangs while this activity takes place.
Somebody must have an idea!

This problem was fixed by reseating the floppy cable. A loose connection?
