| Reformated hard drive trying to put Windows on it and I get this ( If you have HPFS or NTTS installe on your hard drive, you will need to create an MS-DOS boot partition to set up window's.) I've used fdisk and it tell me DOS Partition already exists and when I try to set to active it tells me it is already set to active. HELP PLEASE.... Can't get to the cd rom drive to load windows... Thanks KB7FXJ (In Alaska) |

| Woah... slow down. What version of windows are you trying to install, what are your system specs? What filesystem are you trying to install on? (NTFS? FAT? FAT32?) EDIT: When you wrote "NTTS," I assume you meant NTFS. Am I correct? |

| It's been a while since I used Fdisk, but that DOS partition you say you already have must be an extended DOS partition, and I assume the primary partition was NTFS? Was that the file system you were using? There is a way to delete Non-DOS partitions with Fdisk, just don't remember the exact procedure but I know it's possible as I've done it before. You need to delete it and then create a primary DOS partition or logical dos drive, make it active and format it.

| Fdisk option 4 will display the partition info so you can see what you need to do...

| How did you have an NTFS partition with WiMe (read as: "Why Me")? WinMe is based off of the Windows 9x kernel, and does not support (without 3rd party software) NTFS drives. |
