This may be a simple question but have you partitioned and formatted the drive?

What Mobo / Bios do you have. Some mobos have a problem seeing the newer 120GB drives..

Have you tried going to the Control Panel, then to Computer Management, then to Disk Management to see if the drive shows up there as unpartitioned space? If so, you should be able to partition it from there.

I am assuming you installed as slave on the ide with other 120GB?.

If it is a slave then, are you going to run it as 120gb or are you going to carve it up ( partition it in to smaller drives) ?.

You will still have to use "fdisk" the partition the drive and the format the partition/s.

If you are going to use the whole drive then you should just format it.

Normally I do it from floppy boot disk with fdisk on it, as well format cmd on the disk. Then I run it against the drive designation d,e,f what ever.

Run fdisk against the drive what ever the designation ( depends on how many other hard drive partitions there ) to partition it.
Then run format gainst the partition/s.
