Hard Drive problem need help please

Im using a 300gb maxtor hard drive for storage in my machine. i had a 30gb and a 250gb partition on it. the 250gb was just about full with all my software, music and what not. i wanted to make the drive 1 hole partition again. so install partition magic. i went though at it was converting the 30gb partition back into the 250gb and it was in the middle of coping all my data when it got a error. so now it reads as one big partition but non of my stuff is there. it says its almost full but i cant see any of my stuff, i add a drive letter to the drive i see the folder that my stuff is in but i cant open it. at this point im really stuck and need help.

sounds like you need to get a restore program to pull up all your lost data.

Wink There Are Solutions

Hello TSgtJoe2005

Don't give up!!!

There are software solutions out there. One is Get Data Back Data Recovery (no URL for ya), and if you can get it, you should be able to recover all your data. There's a multitude of freeware applications out there, but you should be picky about any software you choose to install and run!!!

If you really want the data, take the time to find some software that will get it.

That's all I can suggest!

Hope It Helps!!!

I am assuming that you're working with tech support for partition magic concerning this. They may have a fix for the problem.

too bad you didn't image the partitions before starting. After you get this fixed maybe you should get another 300gb for backup purposes.
