| I tried taking the CD burner out and adding the second hard drive but it didn’t recognize either hard drive, so I put the CD burner back in but then it still wouldn’t recognize the HD. I had to disconnect the CD burner in order to get the HD recognized.

| Do you have your 20 GB set as Master (it should already be set as Master) and your new 160 GB set as Slave? If you still can't see the new HD, you present BIOS may have a 137 GB limit. You could try flashing to the latest BIOS. The Promise Controller card will solve all your problems...

| how do i flash to the latest BIOS.

| Follow the directions in your motherboard manual.
