| harddrive limiting what limits the maximum harddrive size (in GB) in computers. Why can't I put my 120GB harddrive that's in my P4T-E into my older P2B? Is this a bios problem or something? Is there anything that can be done to maximize this limit. I have a 60 GB that works in my P2B but I don't think anything bigger sees the drive. ![]()

| Could be the 65GB on your old box is using a 'driver' to fool the BIOS. Most current drives come with this type of install utility. eg. Maxtor has MaxBlast II, WD has EZ-Drive. I've seen a few references to programs that enable support for drives larger than 64GB in Win9x systems. Might even be a BIOS limitation too. Check your HDD manufacturer for more info ddd |
